Hi, everyone, it is six o'clock going on 615 and today I'm going to talk about remote work. Justin Jones in his TEDx talks, states that technology has already transformed the world work. In this presentation he also said, for those who have not heard of remote working before, perhaps you have heard the terms telecommuting, or teleworker, referring to somebody who on occasion, works from his her or their home. Now, Justin Jones, not to be confused with Jughead compares a remote worker with a person who has never worked a day in their life like Veronica lodges rich mother. There are many more comparisons like this in real life. Nicholas long, a professor of economics at Stanford University, also gave a TEDx presentation. He stated that for many of us who perhaps have never worked remotely yet, telecommuting or zooming as the millennial say, looks suspicious, at least to those of us over 60 long mansions that there were lots of that there were a lot of sketchy ads about earning 1000s of dollars while doing practically nothing at all.

Similar to the YouTube videos, you've probably seen about transcription any who. This is how his work was usually seen by his friends and family before doing nothing at all. You say? Well, that probably makes made sense at the end of the 20th century. But today, the situation is different. Many fortunes 500 companies including IBM, at, Amazon, and that legal firm, where the lawyer couldn't figure out how to remove the kitten filter on that viral video, have already set a remote working environment. I'm also considering the fact that many people do not have any other choice right now. Because of the COVID pandemic happening all around the globe. remote work will thrive even more in the next few years. How do you work and manage your remote team effectively? Well, this was the main question in an article titled set up remote workers to thrive. You can find a free version of it on MIT Sloan rent Management Review, published way back in the deep mists of time, or 2009, depending on your POV. Anyway, Jay Mulkey and others believe that finding a good work life balance can be problematic, while working remotely, teleworkers often find that dispersion has quite an opposite effect, meaning they sometimes work longer hours and have less time for personal life.

Many researchers believe there are many other issues such as work recycle ation, lack of visibility and face to face communication. Sure, there are challenges. However, every lifestyle has its advantages and disadvantages. We could talk about the advantages for hours, but for me, the pros wave outweighs the cons. First of all, you can travel whenever you want. If you can find someplace to travel that isn't either 100% closed or which requires a vaccination card. But you can always travel to your backyard if you have one. You'll also have more time for reading books and binge-watching Frasier if you plan your day accordingly. Heck, you can do your work from three o'clock am to 9pm three days a week, then slack off the rest of the time. Name an office environment that'll give you that kind of option. Are there any like this? Seriously, let me know because that sounds pretty good to me.
