Um, okay, so yeah, this is another. This is another GoTranscript audio test that you the transcriber need to transcribe. And you need to get the guidelines while you're working. If you're not sure this is supposed to be clean verbatim, not full verbatim. So if you're just using automatic automated transcription software, and having it put in every, every and every so and every, um, and you just submitted like that, well, you're going to be in a world of hurt my friend coast, that is not how you're supposed to be doing the test. You are supposed to be looking at the guidelines before you submit your test and make sure that you proofread your own stuff. And if you if there's any words or things that you can't hear or can't understand, then don't make it up. Don't try to guess what the word is, if you don't know what the word is, there's a certain type of tag you're supposed to use. And it's supposed to be it's supposed to be a timestamp tab, which means you have to put the the word that you're going to use for either in audible or unintelligible in brackets, and then you're going to put the time that you heard it like for example, let's say that I give you a name.

Speaker 2:

And you don't know how that name supposed to be spelled like, I'll give you a good example. It's a distant relative of mine named Michelle Ruby. Now, you could look it up and you might be able to find a correct acceptable spelling for it online somewhere. But if you can't, it's okay. What you need to do though is don't guess if you can't figure out what the correct spelling is of Michelle rubidoux. And you are afraid to make an educated guess that's fine. Just tag it instead of typing it in. Because that's how you're supposed to do it as a transcriber. Yes, it's true. transcribers are allowed to say that they don't know how the word is spelled or how a term is spelled that they're not allowed to do is to guess on it. So it's better to use the correct spelling. And also if I mispronounced something, like, for example, if I mispronounced the word niche, then you're supposed to spell it the way it's supposed to be spelled, even if it's supposed to be spelled differently than how it sounds. You know, just a niche market is how it's supposed to be. And if I say you ain't supposed to do this, or you You ain't supposed to do that. Well, it says in the guidelines, whether you're supposed to put eight or not, so be sure and look it up.

Speaker 2:

There's certain things like italicizing movie titles and song titles and stuff like that. Like for example, if I tell you that I'm binge watching shits Creek again, for like the third time, then you should be sure and italicize the name of that TV show I just mentioned. And also be sure that you punctuate it correctly. And if you haven't watched it yourself, hey, go watch it. It's really good. It's really funny. You like it. And it's real. It's always fun to see. Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara back together again. Yes, I'm old. I remember them from sctv. And if you haven't seen that, be sure and look it up. It's a lot better use of your time on YouTube and looking up these stupid people that say that they know what the audio test is supposed to be formatted like, guarantee you, they are making it up. Okay? So don't listen to them. Do your own work, do your own research, and you'll do fine. Okay, see you next time.
