Why do you want to be a GoTranscript worker?

Seriously?

Okay. Well, I guess it's for the big bucks.

Anyway, come on. I need a real answer. Why are you interested in transcribing for GoTranscript as opposed to, say, delivering groceries for Instacart?

Speaker 2:

Well, for one thing, I don't have a car.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Also, there aren't any actual grocery stores in my neighborhood.

Speaker 1:

Really?

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's kind of weird. Isn't it?

Speaker 2:

Why?

Speaker 1:

Well, where do you get your groceries, then?

Speaker 2:

Oh, Amazon mostly. Sometimes a GoTranscript admin swings by and drops off a bag of food on their way home to their glamorous mansion.

Speaker 1:

Ah. I'd heard about that, but I didn't know it was really true.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah. It is. Sometimes some of those GoTranscript editors live in luxury in Beverly Hills or Monte Carlo.

Speaker 1:

Wow. I'm a bit surprised. I didn't think those jobs paid all that much.

Speaker 2:

Well, they don't. But last year, they came up with one of those Round Up Savings Plans.

Speaker 1:

Really? [crosstalk 00:01:51].

Speaker 2:

Well, let's say you get paid 29 cents for a two hour transcription.

Speaker 1:

That sounds about right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. But what they do now is round up to 30 cents and then put that extra penny into a special savings account.

Speaker 1:

I see.

Speaker 2:

If you add up all those extra pennies, let's say for a year, you might be surprised at how it adds up. I've been doing that at my bank and also at the general store down the road.

Speaker 1:

What's the most you've saved so far?

Speaker 2:

Oh, I don't [crosstalk 00:02:33].

Speaker 1:

Oh, go for it.

Speaker 2:

Well, I came out with $5.70 [crosstalk] year. Yeah. Pretty sweet, huh?

Speaker 1:

No kidding. So what'd you do with all that cash?

Speaker 2:

Oh, I went over to the GoTranscript general store and picked up a new headset [crosstalk 00:02:59].

Speaker 1:

Nice. Tell me, why do you want to be a GoTranscript transcriptionist if you're already saving that kind of cash?

Speaker 2:

Well, you know what they say. You can never have enough.

Speaker 1:

I guess some people say that. Is it true?

Speaker 2:

Well, why don't you hire me for GoTranscript and find out for yourself?
